The new conditions complement the liability regime of the CMR Convention. In addition, they are adapted to the new evolutions and ‘customary clauses’ in the sector and take into account the e-CMR. To this end, the lawyers of the three federations worked together with representatives of (transport) insurers and especially with Filip Melis, a lawyer specialising in transport law and CMR. His fee will be transferred to ‘Truckers with a Heart’, an initiative supported by the late Alfons Buyl, among others.
