The Antwerp Shipping Association (ASV) announces the twelfth edition of its biennial Shiplink event. The informal networking event with the traditional snack and drink tops the agenda of many a shipping industry professional.
The twelfth edition of Shiplink, a biennial gathering for the shipping industry organised by ASV, will take place on 28 March 2024. “Shiplink is a private and informal networking event for everyone who uses shipping in our port,” summarises ASV general manager Eddy Wouters. “Only ASV members can take a stand and only they send out the invitations, for example to relations, shippers and forwarders.”
All members can sign in, but the stands look exactly the same. “A conscious choice,” says Wouters. “We aim for uniformity and want to present everyone in an equal way. Apart from the photos and back walls, all stands are identical.”
Meeting people
“Shiplink is the ideal opportunity to meet the people you might work with on a regular basis, but don’t see very often. Think for example of the people from customer service or administration,” says Wouters.
“It really is an event we organise for our members,” says Wouters. “From ASV, we are therefore making a serious investment here. We would like to facilitate that our members can receive their customers and their business relations in an informal setting, over snacks and drinks, as it should be in the maritime sector.”
“Be friendly”

ASV is counting on around two thousand attendees. “The companies that have an interest in it are keen to attend because they can see a lot of people in one evening. As an invitee, admission is free, but without an invitation you won’t get in. For those who like to attend, I have a golden advice: be nice to the ship’s agents,” smiles Wouters.
On 28 March 2024, participating shipping agents will roll out the red carpet for their customers and associates during Shiplink Red Carpet Line. “It will end at 11.30pm, although of course people might want to discuss the event afterwards in one of the surrounding cafés near the Waagnatie,” concludes Wouters.
