Titan ships piece by piece Swiss train to Madagascar

Striking images on the LinkedIn page of Antwerp breakbulk player Titan Cargo. The company recently shipped a number of rail wagons, originating in Switzerland, to Madagascar. An uncommon route with an extraordinary backstory, it turns out. “We ship these old train carriages on behalf of the Swiss charity organisation Madagascare,” says managing director Peter Huybrechts. “That foundation emanates from a number of Swiss logistics professionals and has been active in the region for about 15 years. It is currently building a railway between the capital and the port. Depending on the resources available to them, they buy material and we ship it to Madagascar for them. A few weeks ago, we shipped another ambulance for the foundation. The cargo in the photo consists of old Swiss railway carriages and railway rails.”
