However, the fact that port traffic has stabilised again compared to the same period last year already seems enough reason for satisfaction for the port authorities. The 2.7% increase in overall traffic in the third quarter shows that things are moving in the right direction, according to the Port Authority. Nevertheless, the port of Antwerp, which recorded an overall traffic increase of 3.3% for the first nine months and recorded a 4% profit in the container segment, is edging further ahead of its German competitor.
