The appeal was filed with the Dutch Council of State on Friday. According to the Port Authority, the option retained by the Netherlands – the cable route 4B through the Westerschelde – poses a safety risk to shipping traffic to and from Antwerp. After all, the cable is planned in the busiest area of the Western Scheldt. There were a total of four options, but according to the Port Authority, the various alternatives were not sufficiently examined.
