Flows Logistics Thesis of the Year: Dries Goukens on Silk Road

Dries Goukens immersed himself in the New Silk Road for his bachelor’s thesis at the Karel de Grote Hogeschool. He examined the challenges the participating countries face in making the most of that trade route and what impact this will have on Belgium and, more specifically, Antwerp. “I chose this subject because of my interest in logistics and geopolitics,” he explains. “The New Silk Road is a project with a major impact on the whole world. Since I also did my internship in Russia and Kazakhstan and these are important countries for the New Silk Road, all the pieces of the puzzle fell together.”
