Ten new freeports as brexit aid in UK

By building duty and customs-free zones at 10 ports across the country, the UK government wants to boost trade and growth. The government is therefore launching a 10-week consultation, which will run until 20 April 2020. After that, the government will invite various sea, air and rail ports to bid for free port status. By the end of this year, the UK government plans to announce the location of the new zones. When the UK leaves the European Union on 1 January 2021, they could be opened for business.
