Vredesactie vzw has had the ship in its sights for some time. On Saturday, the non-profit organisation protested conspicuously at the gates of the Katoen Natie terminal at Kaai 1227 in the port of Antwerp. “The ship was in the port back in May last year and we know that it has been exporting ammunition and explosives for use in the war in Yemen for the past two years. 53 tonnes of explosives and ammunition were picked up with destination Saudi Arabia,” Bram Vranken of vzw Vredesactie told Het Laatste Nieuws.
