Blue Line Logistics tests 'Zulu' in Paris for Olympics

In Paris, construction work already started late last year for the athletes’ village for the Olympic and Paralympic Games to be held in the French capital in 2024. The Seine apparently already played an important role in the bid for the Games. The French government, the Olympic Park’s construction manager Solideo, the French waterway operator VNF and Haropa – which groups the ports of Le Havre, Rouen and Paris – have now signed a partnership for inland waterway logistics for the project. Thus, all construction materials and construction waste to and from the sites in Saint-Denis, Saint-Ouen and the Ile-Saint-Denis will be transported by water. The ambition is to make the Olympic Games in 2024 the first emission-neutral games.
