H.Essers may expand on Hörmann site (and cut down forest)

In March, the Council of State decided that the famous 9-hectare ‘Essersbos’ could not be cut down for the expansion of the pharmaceuticals logistics complex. The Limburg group then proceeded with a ‘plan B’, an infill development. Space would be freed up at the main site on Transportlaan by demolishing the existing crossdock and replacing it with logistics buildings. Space would be created by building a new headquarters at another location on the site and replacing parking spaces with a parking tower next to that building. The European crossdock would then move from Transportlaan to the former Hörmann site along Woudstraat, a short distance away, in 2020.
