Belgian entrepreneurs also sound alarm over Brenner Pass restrictions

For some time, tensions have been rising between the local government of Tyrol, the Austrian government and the German government over trans-Alpine traffic through the Brenner Pass. That tunnel is the main link between Germany and the rest of Western Europe on the one hand and Italy and the Balkan countries on the other. The authorities in the area are being accused of imposing unreasonable restrictions on freight traffic. These should not only stop shortcuts but also reduce the absolute number of trucks passing through the Brenner.
