Following annual tradition, Brussels Airport presented the Aviation Awards to aviation players who distinguished themselves in terms of growth, performance and environmental efforts. Comedienne Serine Ayari delighted the many attendees.
It is now the seventeenth time that Brussels Airport organises the Aviation Awards. Since 2007, the airport has rewarded airlines and partners who excel in terms of growth, innovation, performance and development of network and cargo. This year, ten awards were presented.
Around 250 participants had descended on the Sheraton hotel at Brussels Airport. The first half of the awards ceremony included the Brucargo Award for the Animal Care & Inspection Centre (ACIC). The Logistics Service Provider Award went to Nippon Express.
Funny note
Serine Ayari, Belgian comedienne and actress with Tunisian background, provided the funny note with stories about her language skills and when she herself worked at the airport.
During the second half of the award show, the Cargo Airline Award surprisingly went to United Airlines, which carries a lot of cargo in its passenger aircraft, mainly pharmaceuticals.
The Cargo Airline Performance Award went to Qatar Airways Cargo, while Brussels Airlines won the Environment Award.
After the awards ceremony, it was time to network and catch up with old friends.
