Estuary navigation: 80% of the time also possible with inland vessels
Nieuws, Shipping Koen Heinen
An initial proposal with amendments to the Royal Decree of 8 March 2007 dates from May this year. Since the estuary route from the port of Zeebrugge passes through Dutch waters, the text amendment must be submitted to the Netherlands. That already happened on 2 June at the Scheldt directors’ meeting. The proposal will finally be discussed at the meeting of the Permanent Commission for the Supervision of Scheldt Navigation. According to an answer by Flemish Mobility Minister Ben Weyts (N-VA) to a parliamentary question on the subject, a response is expected this month.
