In this final look back at the World Congress of the International Forwarders Association FIATA in Brussels, we take a look at the photo album. We also reveal which members of Forward Belgium were appointed to FIATA’s board.
The World Congress of the international freight forwarders’ association FIATA is behind us and organisers Olivier Schoenmaeckers and Marc Huybrechts look back with satisfaction. Both in terms of the congress and exhibition, as well as the content, there was high praise. “The participants were very positive about the contacts they were able to make and about the high level of these contacts,” the organisers say.
A few Belgians were also appointed to FIATA’s executive body, an overview:
- Jens Roemer, board member FORWARD Belgium, chairman of the FIATA Working Group Sea and reconfirmed in the FIATA Presidency as senior vice president.
- Olivier Schoenmaeckers elected as FIATA vice president in the extended board.
- Marc Huybrechts elected as chair of the FIATA congress committee and member of the extended board.
Upcoming editions
Marc Huybrechts’ duties in this capacity will include organising the congresses in the coming years. The congress is planned for 2024 in Panama, and a year later in 2025 the congress will be held in Hanoi.
“I can also report that during FIATA 2023 in Brussels, it was confirmed that the 100th congress will take place in Milan in Italy in 2026. So that will be an anniversary edition to look forward to,” says Marc Huybrechts.
