H.Essers logistics centre at Ford site will focus on chemicals
Nieuws, Logistics Philippe Van Dooren
The Ford site was divided into three sub-zones, with De Vlaamse Waterweg being commissioned to develop zone C on the Albert Canal for water-related activities. It launched a market survey of candidates for that zone at the end of last year. In March, the concession was awarded to H.Essers and Haven Genk NV (a joint venture of Group Machiels and Aperam, the former ALZ Genk). The former will have 22 ha there to develop logistics activities and the latter 28 ha to develop a regional transhipment centre (ROC) for water- and rail-bound goods.
