VDAB is organising a large job and training fair on 3 October with some 105 companies and training partners present in Vilvoorde. One of those companies is Aviato,the employment centre of Brussels Airport. There are 400 vacancies open at the airport.
JOBOP is a collaboration in shared partnership with Zaventem, Wezembeek-Oppem, Kraainem, Kortenberg, Vilvoorde, Machelen, Grimbergen and Aviato Brussels Airport. The fair is aimed at all jobseekers looking to work for employers with vacancies in the wider Vilvoorde region. Employers will have the opportunity to advertise their vacancies during the fair, while potential candidates will be able to come into contact with these companies in an approachable way. Parallel to the job fair, there will also be a training fair.
Four hundred vacancies
VDAB counted 14,950 registered jobseekers without work with residence in the district of Halle-Vilvoorde on 30 June 2023. This is 6.5% more compared to the same period last year.
With the job fair, the partners aim to increase the employment rate in the region. VDAB works with partners Aviato and Actiris to promote interregional mobility. They specifically target (low-skilled) jobseekers in Brussels and aim to offer them opportunities to work in the periphery.
“Aviato is constantly looking for new talent for the average four hundred open positions at Brussels Airport. More than three hundred companies across eight sectors operate here,” says Isabelle Borli, general manager Aviato.
Job application tips
During the fair, VDAB mediators will be on hand to answer questions about employment, vacancies and training. They can also help jobseekers with questions about their CVs or last-minute job application tips.
JOBOP will take place on 3 October at the VDAB training centre in Cyriel Buyssestraat 15 in Vilvoorde from 11 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.
